[U.K.]
Whether its 'Mum' or 'Mom,' with ideas like this from OASIS® Floral Products, this is one message you can shout from the rooftops. Because this design not only oozes loads of style, it can be pre-made in advance, as a ready-to-go line for the cash-rich, time-poor customer wanting something easy to buy. Best of all, it drips with all the little finishing touches that make the difference between bespoke and bog standard by showing off your floristry skills to the full. So go on...think outside the box and make Mums (or Moms) everywhere feel even more special.
Sweet Confection
Chocolates and flowers . . . a natural combination as Ian Lloyd proves. This delicate and sweet-smelling design is made with a 12" OASIS® Design Ring, a nifty floral foam ring that comes with a deep green base so that you can extend the design into the middle and make sure there's plenty of water to ensure the flowers last longer.
What you'll need:
Sundries
12" OASIS® Design Ring
15 cm Cylinder Acrylic Container
Strong Pink Hat Pins
OASIS® Sunshine Leafshine
Pink Angel Hair
Flowers and Foliage
Fatsia Aralea
Aspidistra Leaves
Asparagus Myriocladus
Hyacinth 'Anna Marie'
Hyacinth 'Delft Blue,'
Gerbera 'Maroussia'
Hydrangea Molucella
Rosa 'Heaven'
Nerine 'Favoreit'
Anigozanthos Calla Lily
Carnation 'Pink Dona'
Step One
Soak the OASIS® Design Ring thoroughly, ideally floating it in water so that you achieve the maximum water uptake. Wrap large Fatsia Aralea and Aspidistra Leaves around the OASIS® Design Ring to cover the frame and make a bold statement, pinning them into place with Strong Pink Hat Pins and then soften the effect with pieces of Asparagus Myriocladus.
Step Two
Tease out the Angel Hair and place it at the base of the OASIS® Design Ring. Place the Acrylic Container on top of the Angel Hair and then tease further to fill in any gaps.
Step Three
Position the flowers in low groups to form distinctive areas of colour and shape. Use Hydrangea heads and Molucella, recessed low into the design to cover the floral foam. To complete the design, group Anigozanthos and Nerine at varying heights to give emphasis to the arrangement and fill the vase with
chocolates . . . making sure you grab one for yourself!
